Nicolas "CrocMonsieur" Levi

 

Despite being one of the nicest and well-liked players on the circuit, Nicolas Levi is a player nobody wants to see sitting at their table. With chips in front of him “CrocMonsieur” is ruthless and capable of making incredible, audacious plays. This coupled with a great mathematical mind make him a truly complete player, just as capable in a cash games as in a tournament.

Nicolas was first introduced to cards completely by accident. While studying I.T. in England, he discovered a “unique game which mixes both psychology and mathematics.” From the very first hand he was hooked. A little intimidated by the thought of playing in a casino, it was on the internet that Nicolas began to experience Texas Hold’em.

Starting out at the play money tables it was only two weeks before “CrocMonsieur” was born, depositing €15 and attacking in earnest the micro-limit games. Over time, the light-hearted nickname gradually became feared as his bankroll swelled and he attempted new stakes. “Online poker is ideal for improving,” explains Nicolas, “we play a great many hands and concentrate initially on analysing logic and the mathematics.”

Two years later in 2006, Nicolas made poker his trade and was playing full-time. After many thousands of games later, Nicolas was ready to take his shot at the live professional circuit. From Paris to Goa via St Kitts, Las Vegas and Dortmund (where he reached his first major final table), Nicolas adapted very quickly to the subtleties of the live game. It was at this time that the game of CrocMonsieur reached maturity.

Nicolas Levi joined the Winamax team in September 2007. It was the beginning of a new adventure, joining the likes of Anthony Lellouche, Ludovic Lacay, and Guillaume de la Gorce. This enabled him to improve his game further, sharing his knowledge with the other members of the team and learning from them in turn. To this day, when he is not playing on Winamax or on the live circuit, he lends his experience to television, commentating on poker shows.
