Expresso x UNO 50

The famous UNO card game returns exclusively to our Expresso tables from 1st to 15th December 2021. As soon as you come across an Expresso or an Expresso Nitro with a x2 jackpot, you will be playing an Expresso x UNO 50.

Your objective

On your first Expresso with a x2 multiplier, you will receive a hand of 7 UNO cards.

Your goal is to get rid of your 7 cards as quickly as possible in a maximum of 14  Expresso x UNO 50 tournaments to win cash prizes.

The quicker you get rid of your cards, the bigger the reward will be.

Never will you be so eager to discard your cards!

How it works

At the beginning of an Expresso table with a x2 multiplier, one of the 100 UNO cards will be drawn at random and displayed on the table. The poker game then proceeds normally.

The winner of the Expresso, in addition to bagging their winnings of course,  will be able to discard one of their UNO cards if they have a card that is compatible with the UNO card drawn at the beginning of the Expresso.

You must win the Expresso x UNO 50 to get rid of one of your UNO cards. If you lose the Expresso, you will have to wait until your next victory on an Expresso x2 before you can put a card down.

Warning: if you lose the Expresso, some cards with negative effects may penalise you!

What can we win?

You will have a 7-card UNO hand per Expresso buy-in.

You will win a cash bonus EVERY TIME you manage to get rid of your 7 UNO cards in less than 14 Expresso x UNO tournaments. The quicker you get rid of your UNO cards, the higher the bonus will be.

In order to find out the amount of the bonus, multiply the buy-in of the Expresso played by the multiplier shown in the table below:

Number of Expresso tournaments played to get rid of all your UNO cards Multiplier: prizes expressed as a multiple of the buy-in
 7  100
 8  25
 9  10
 10  5
 11  3
 12  2
 13  1
 14  1

Example: You’re playing €5 Expresso x UNO tournaments. You manage to discard your 7 UNO cards through nine €5 Expresso x UNO tournaments. You will receive a cash bonus of €5 X 10 = €50.

UNO cards compatibility

You can play:

  • A card of the same colour or symbol as the UNO card drawn at the beginning of the Expresso.
  • Any card on top of the "Wild" and "+4" cards.
  • Your own "Wild" and "+4" cards on any card.

If you do not have a compatible card to play with the UNO card drawn at the beginning of the Expresso, you will be unable to discard a card.

UNO cards with negative effects

The only cards with negative effects are those drawn at the beginning of the Expresso and displayed on the table (not your own UNO cards). However, the randomized card at the start of the Expresso displayed in the corner of the table can have a negative effect.

Some of these cards will penalize the players who finish 2nd or 3rd in the Expresso by forcing them to draw or simply slowing down their progress. The winner of the Expresso will be able to discard one of their cards on a negative card if they have a compatible card in their possession.

Card Effect
Cards numbered 0 to 9 No negative effect
“Wild” card No negative effect
“Draw Two” card The losers must draw 2 cards
“Wild Draw Four” card The losers must draw 4 cards
Skip your turn The losers will NOT be able to discard a card through their next Expresso x UNO. They will, however, be protected if they lose in their next Expresso x UNO with a negative effect drawn.

Please note that if you have more than 7 cards in your hand (as a result of drawing 2 or 4 cards) or if you can no longer earn a bonus due to the number of x2 Expresso tournaments already played, the current UNO game will be lost. The next time you play a x2 Expresso, you will receive a new UNO hand with 7 new cards and the remaining Expresso counter will be reset.

Composition of UNO deck

The UNO deck used here includes 100 cards:

  • Details

    • At the start of an Expresso x UNO 50, the chance of drawing any card is equiprobable among the 100 cards in the UNO card pack.
    • A player can have less than 7 cards at the start of the Expresso x UNO 50 if they have discarded cards from previous Expresso tournaments. A different deck of UNO cards will be used for the distribution of each player's 7 starting cards (7 cards from 100 are randomly drawn).
    • At the end of the Expresso, your UNO hand will appear in a pop-up and compatible cards will be highlighted. You have 10 seconds to select a card. Without any action from you within this time, a compatible card will automatically be chosen for you.
    • The UNO hand is common to all your open Expresso tables of the same buy-in. Should you play at different buy-ins simultaneously, you will then be given multiple UNO hands (one per buy-in).
    • When you end your Expresso session, your UNO hand will be kept for the next session for the duration of the promotion.
    • No need to shout UNO when you have only one card left!
